For those of you who have been following my pregnancy progress, read my bump diary or follow me on twitter…you may well have heard me going on about my itchy skin. It is much worse than the usual eczema I suffer from. It has been extreme at times: a combination of feeling as though I have a million insects crawling over and under my skin and sometimes accompanied by a burning sensation – not pleasant at all.

I have had my liver checked out and its not that, so there is little the Doctors can do. I have tried a variety of lotions and oils which have had little effect so I jumped at the chance to review sometime new, after all anything is worth a try.  I was very generously sent two products from the Yaa Fumanti skincare range to try.

Having just developed tiny little red spots all over my tummy area, I had been suffering pretty badly for two days and the itchiness was at a new level when these products arrived. I must admit I was a little concerned about trying soemthing new when my skin was so bad but seing as it was paraben free and the reviews claimed it to be so good, I thought I would just go for it and try it.

First up was the Aenna body creme 200mls

The creme comes in a heavy based glass jar which is pleasant to look at. It smells lovely too and is a thick consistency:

It rubs in easily enough and left my skin feeling and smelling lovely.

In just two days, my bright red, tiny spots had become much less severe…amazing

I have now been using this product for a few weeks and am noticing quite a difference. On its own it didn’t completely get rid of the itchiness (but then my case is very severe). However, it did make my skin less red, less itchy, feel smoother and get rid of the tiny spots that had appeared (they have not reappeared). I am now using twice twice daily plus taking a piriton tablet in the evening and am much more comfortable.

This product gets a huge thumbs up from me and I would recommend to anyone who has suffers from dry skin, eczema etc.  Its definitely one of the better products I have tried.

The second product was the Bootiful Bum Balm 150mls

Midwife tested and award winning Baby Balm, this is a great all rounder balm that can be used for babies skin, as a nappy balm and for adult blemishes.

Now Rosie only wears nappies at night time now but I have been using just a tiny amount on her to try it out and it is lovely. It is quite a thick consistency and feels a bit gritty (although not unpleasant), it rubs in easily feeling a bit like an oil.

It has a lovely clean scent, rubs in well and her bottom is lovely and soft.

The main use we have had for this cream though is on her Sister eczema. Poppys had a bit of a flair up on her arms since the weather has been warmer and this has worked a treat. Her skin is softer and smoother and not red at all.

I would definitely recommend and happily use on baby number three when she arrives.

All in all two great products.
