Today was a gorgeous day. The sky was bright blue, the sun was shining and It was pretty mild. Warm enough to ditch the coats anyway. Rosie was off on a play date, husband was catching up on a few jobs in the house, so I decided to take the other two to the park.

I love being a Mum of three but personally I always find it so much easier when there is two. It doesn’t matter which one you take away but life is quieter and calmer with two. It doesn’t happen that often and it’s never for that long either but when it does happen I make the most of it and enjoy the peace.

Today Daisy and Rosie asked to go to Pittville Park in Cheltenham. This is a fabulous park which is divided into two halves. On one side is the main children’s play area which is great but always busy. Instead, we prefer to start with the much larger western park with its more natural layout and small areas of woodland.

There’s a lovely walkway around a lake, with natural play trail that the girls really enjoy. The girls enjoy running, jumping and climbing at every opportunity. Then we usually end up in the large park at the end. I find it easier that way as they are usually quite tired by then and don’t argue too much when I tell them it’s time to go!

The three girls do get on pretty well together but they do argue a lot too. There were no arguments today though. Daisy especially enjoyed having big sister to herself. She didn’t have to fight for her attention and Poppy joined in with all her imaginary games without complaint. In fact they had a lovely time running around, climbing trees and just playing together. It was great to see.

Of course they missed their sister though and once home, couldn’t wait for her to come back home. Once she did, they excitedly swapped stories about their afternoons and made plans together for the rest of their holidays. Starting off with a sister sleepover in a Poppys room.
