The generosity and kindness of other parenting bloggers never fails to amaze me but on Thursday night I was blown away by the wonderful Zoe Corkhill AKA Mamma Geek!

A few days ago I learnt my site might have been hacked. I received an email from Google Webmaster Tools. Once I signed in I could see that there was some sort of malware virus and spammy messages being sent from my blog. Scary stuff!

Ive been blogging for 4 years now and have never had anything like this happen before. At first I thought there might be some sort of quick fix but after googling it I quickly realised it wasn't the case. There are lots of videos and blog posts to help guide you through the process. But once I had told people on facebook and Twitter and alerted my host I was lost. My blog is hosted through Bluehost and I must admit I didn't find them very helpful at all. Just trying to identify the damage done seemed so complicated and I felt very alone.

I didn't get it. I spent the whole day/ evening looking at YouTube videos & reading blog posts on fixing it but it all just seemed so scary. I didn't have a clue and was getting myself into a state. To make matters worse Husband became very irritable and grumpy with me because I was just staring blankly at my iPad, he didn't even offer to help and in the end I just burst into tears.

Fed up and frustrated I sent out this tweet:

@wouldliketobe: Very emotional tonight. Sites been hacked & I have no idea how to fix it. Have a grumpy husband too who doesn't know why I'm so upset!

Then the lovely Emma @thecheshire wife stepped in and asked if Zoe could help.

It didn't occur to me that she would start working on it straight away, afterall it was about 11pm! She wasted no time though, spotted the problems immediately and started cleaning up my site straight away. She worked on it through the night until it was done. She discovered lots of doggy stuff, including horrible links that no parenting blogger wants to see. It seems I had been hacked into about a month ago and then several times since. I cannot thank her enough and will be forever grateful.

She has even helped me put in added security so it doesn't happen again. Within a few hours Google had removed the warning messages about my blog and things were back to normal. Thank goodness.

Honestly Zoe totally saved me and my blog. There's not many people who would have done what she did so if you are ever stuck and need website help, don't panic. Zoe is a complete superstar, I cannot recommend her enough. Her rates are very fair and reasonable too. I definitley know exactly where to go next time I need help – Zoe Corkhill Web Design.
