With Christmas out of the way now I have been having another big clear out of old toys and been going through what they really do play with these days. With three children in the house aged 3, 5 and 7 years, they have their own ideas about what they like and it is not always the same. Sometimes they like to play individually, sometimes together but toys they can all play with despite the age differences definitely go down a treat.
Here are our top five toys for sharing:
1. Lego
It always amazes me how busy Lego keeps them. Quiet too. Always a bonus in this noisy house. They are all Lego mad and this Mummy loves it too (except when you stand on it…ouch that hurts!). From the original creative lego to the Disney sets and Lego friends, they are not fussy and love it all.
2. Playmobil
The girls all still enjoy little playsets. When they were younger it was all about Fisher Price Little People but these days its all about Playmobil, a definite favourite. Brilliant for the imagination, they can play for hours. Our latest sets include the pony stable and vet centre…hours of fun! Playmobil is good for boys and girls so perfect for when friends and cousins come to play too. It is made to last and they don’t grow out of it quickly either which is always a bonus.
3. Sylvanian Families
This is a new one in this house as Daisy received quite a bit of it for Christmas. Its been an absolute pleasure watching the three of them play with this together and we are definitely going to add to the collection. I really enjoy listening to their little imaginations and stories and watch them bring the characters to life.
4. Play-Doh
The girls still all adore Play-Doh and although I make it often they do love the sets you can get. For Christmas they received the My little Pony Rainbow Dash Style Salon. Daisy actually received two of these but it really didn’t matter as they all enjoy playing with it and two means far less arguments! Definitely a toy that makes them smile.
5. Dressing Up Clothes
Of course you need more than one outfit to share but we have quite a few.The girls never tire of doing shows and performances and costumes are a must for this. Dressing up clothes have always been a huge hit in this house. We have variety of sizes and they tend to wear them regardless of if they are a bit big or small. Its probably one of their favourite games and even more fun when friends come to play.
What do your children like playing with and do they enjoy playing together? I would love to hear from you.
