As soon as you mention a visit to the beach my children think they are going to be needing swimsuits and going in the water. Try explaining it’s far too cold for that and they think they will at least be able to take their shoes off and paddle. The need for wellies and keeping them on just doesn’t make sense to them but that is definitely what was needed on the bright but windy day we headed off exploring the North Coast of Cornwall last week.

Cornwall is such a beautiful part of the Country that we never tire of visiting. On this particular day we started off with Boscastle, a pretty harbour with cliffs to climb and a few gift shops and cafes. It really was a lovely place to explore:

Next up was Trebarwith Strand. This is a low water beach only but if you time it right, it’s worth a visit. In terms of facilities, there is a pub but not much else there. However, with rock pools to explore and huge waves it’s a great place to play. The girls had so much fun waiting for huge waves and then turning and screaming as they ran away from them as quickly as possible:

The beach isn’t just fun on sunny days. With wellies and coats you can still enjoy yourselves. It’s just different.
