It’s true what they say about the best things in life being free!
A few weeks ago we spent a lovely family day out together. One walk ended up turning into two as we just didn’t want to go home.
I thought I could use the photos we took to show you how days out don’t always have to cost the earth. Sometimes it’s good to just stand back from our busy lives and enjoy the simple pleasures. This whole day out was great fun and cost the price of 5 ice lollies – perfect!
Here’s some of the things we got up to that didn’t cost a thing:
Climbing fences:
Playing with buttercups:
Going on bear hunts (walking through long grass, sticky mud etc):
Playing with the long grass or picking flowers
(These 3 photos were my Husbands):
Admiring the views:
Bug hunting:
Navigating:
Piggybacks from Daddy:
Holding hands:
Watching swans & feeding the ducks:
Just enjoying time together as a family:
Life isn’t always perfect but days like this are 🙂
Have you been enjoying time outside recently?

June 14, 2014 at 12:09 am (11 years ago)A beautiful post with gorgeous photos. Your husband has taken some wonderful ones there of the girls. I must say our happiest days are playing in nature, using imagination and discovering. It is how children learn and us parents appreciate how lucky we are. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

June 14, 2014 at 2:43 pm (11 years ago)Love this Karen, the best days out are often free (or as you say, the cost of a few sweet treats!) and full of memories to remember too. This looks like a lovely family outing, and I love the girls’ skirts! x
