Last weekend we headed to our favourite Pick Your Own for some outdoors fun. It wasn’t the most successful trip in terms of fruit picking but we had a lot of fun nonetheless:

First up we headed towards the pumpkins. Sadly they weren’t looking very Instagram friendly. We decided we must be a bit early so agreed with the girls, we would come back in a few weeks time:

We remembered the corn was in the same field as the pumpkins, so decided to pick some to go with our dinner that night. Once again they were all a bit overgrown and stinging nettles were everywhere. We only managed to pick a few good ones:

The girls still had fun and weren’t too upset. They decided blackberries were next on the list. Once again though, it was not our lucky day. We picked a few which were not very tasty at all. Oh well, Mummy got a few photos and we were all outdoors having fun, so no harm done:

We headed to the shop next, to pick up a few more corns and pay for the ones we picked. The shop is gorgeous and you could easily spend a fortune in there. We took a few photos with their piles of pumpkins outside:

Finally it was time for a play in the park. The girls were delighted to see it had been done up a lot since the last time we visited and it was so much better. They had it to themselves and had lots of fun there. In fact they didn’t want to leave.

We’ve been coming to this Pick Your Own for years now and this was the first time we have not walked away with armfuls of freshly picked goodies. We appreciate it wasn’t anyone’s fault, just one of those days and won’t let it put us off going back. It really was a fun morning out regardless.
