Dear Rosie,
Today was your Birthday and you were very, very excited to finally become six. Having your Birthday in the Summer term means you feel you have a long time to wait until yours. You watch your friends one by one have theirs and turn a year older and are very impatient for yours to come around. You are in far too much of a hurry to grow up little Miss. Mummy really would prefer it if you just stayed young for a bit longer:
One of the reasons I first started writing this blog was as a little journal for you girls to look back on. I have recorded so many memories and photos for you and this post in particular shows how physically you have changed over the past six years. Then last year I recorded what you liked at five and decided I would like to carry that on as a yearly tradition.
You are such a gorgeous, lovely little girl. You are the fun, giggly one in the family. Always trying to make us all laugh whether its with funny faces you pull or the jokes you tell us. To be honest your jokes are not the best but they are getting better with the help of the joke books we have brought this year and you do make us all smile.
You love School and your Teacher and are doing very well there too. You are excelling at reading and have read almost every stage 14 book in the school (year 5 books). You are a little star and only just six!
Oh and big news, you stopped sucking your thumb this year! We weren’t sure you were ever going to stop but you did it and we are so proud of you.
Here’s a few other things you like:
As you can see the list isn’t much different to last years. I have added animals in this year, although they should have been in last year too. You really, really want to be a vet when you get older. Personally I think you could have a job in fashion but who knows. I am sure you can be anything you want with hard work and determination.
You celebrated your Birthday with a disco/ ice cream themed party. You absolutely adore singing, dancing and performing as well as ice cream so this was the perfect party for you. You invited 10 friends from school, your two cousins William and Thomas and your Sisters of course. So that was a total of 15 children dancing away in the house. Big Sister Poppy was the DJ and a very cool DJ she was too. It was a lot of fun. You decided against party food opting for hotdogs and chips instead (apparently much cooler) although Mummy did put some crisps, biscuits and other snacks out for when you all got in starving from school. There was cake and ice creams too. You went to bed saying it was the best birthday ever and you didn’t want the day to end.
I am so glad you enjoyed yourself but just relax and enjoy being five for a while. There’s no rush to grow up sweetheart, theres plenty of time. Lets just have fun doing lots more of what you love: days out and holidays with our little family, making stuff and dancing.
Love you more than chocolate marshmallows and sprinkles, sunny holidays and rainbows.
Hugs & Kisses
