A few weeks ago we decided to pop to our local PYO farm to pick some corn for dinner. On our way over to the corn fields we noticed lots of lovely pumpkins, so couldn’t resist stopping for a few photos there too. What a wonderful surprise. Pumpkins and corn….a perfect morning.
Picking your own fruit and vegetables is a lot of fun and something we do as a family regularly. Not only does it keep the children interested in what they are eating and get them involved in the kitchen but it is also a great form of entertainment that doesn’t break the bank. I took the girls a lot in the summer because it was something I could manage to do with all three of them by myself.
Luckily for us on this particular morning the sun was out so there was no need for coats. We did have our wellies on though because walking through the fields can be very mucky. The pumpkin fields in particular can be a bit prickly too.
It was a very peaceful morning. In fact the only person we saw was the farmer on his tractor who waved at the girls as he went passed. Much to their delight of course.
There were pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and if you don’t fancy picking your own you could always pick yours up from the shop. These girls had great fun and can’t wait to go back again soon. I think their halloween trail might have started by now too. Definitely worth a look I think.
We are really in the mood for halloween now. I think we might have to go back to pick our own pumpkins in fancy dress. What do you think?
As always on our visits to Primrose Vale, we ended our visit at the park. These girls might be getting bigger but they still enjoy it.
Lots of fun.
