Shoes for three little girls can be expensive and we get through a lot of them. We don’t go mad matching them to every outfit…oh I wish I could afford to do that but they need shoes for school or nursery, the big girls need trainers and plimsols for school too. Then in the Summer we like them to all have canvas shoes for everyday use and outdoors fun and of course prettier ones for parties. That really does add up, especially when they all have a growth spurt at once.
So when Mothercare asked me if there was anything I would like to review for them I immediately thought, Daisy is ready for new shoes! Okay I might have briefly looked at all the gorgeous things in the Little Bird Range by Jools Oliver but decided “No! She needs shoes more than dresses, skirts or tshirts”.
I actually handed Daisy the laptop and let her pick her own. She did pretty well considering she is only three and eventually settled on two pairs: a pair for Nursery and a pretty pair for parties and occasions when canvas just won’t do. I was surprised and thrilled to see we could get both pairs for her within our budget. I’m going to review them in separate posts purely because we had such lovely photos.
These are the Nursery pair:
Pink Canvas Double Strap Shoes – £10.00 – £11.00
As you can see they look gorgeous. The colour is bright and cheerful and the double velcro straps are easy for Daisy to put on and off herself. Perfect for my fiercely independent almost four year old daughter. The double straps make them feel very supportive and they don’t slip at all. Obviously the price tag is pretty appealing too.
When then arrived I asked Daisy what she thought and she excitedly told me they were perfect for running, jumping and hopping in and immediately set off doing all three around the living room. We decided we could to do better than that though, so set off road testing them properly. She has worn them out and about on our family outdoors adventures as well as to Nursery where she received some lovely positive comments about them:
They have run through long grass, climbed trees, hopped, skipped and jumped around the park and generally been put through their paces by my energetic little girl:
So what does Daisy think of them? I asked her and she said “they are brilliant” (said as she planted a kiss on the top of them yuck!). “They are lovely and comfy just like Rosie’s slippers” (she has slippers of her own but likes to steal her Sisters): Thankfully I had cleaned them up and they were once again mud free and looking lovely again:
The verdict then – a very reasonably priced pair of girls canvas shoes that not only look great but are extremely comfortable and practical too. We can’t wait to show you her pretty party ones next . Watch this space for another review coming soon.
Have you discovered shoes from Mothercare yet?
