I love the lavender fields. They look so pretty, smell amazing and I really enjoy visiting each year. This year Poppy decided that she definitely wasn’t as excited about going as I was. In fact the night before our visit she told me “Mummy I don’t really want to go to the lavender fields tomorrow, its not that exciting but because I love you, I will go and I will smile for your photos”. Well what could I say to that apart from “thank you?”
Thankfully she did enjoy herself whilst there and I treated them all to some lavender ice cream as a reward. They all talked about it whilst there and decided that we should keep coming each year. Mainly because Mummy enjoys it so much but also because they really are lovely to see and we get some really lovely photos. I think there is actually something quite special about these beautiful purple fields. The sight, the smell…its just something else and I think the girls remembered once there:
This year we visited Mayfield Lavender fields in Surrey. It was pretty busy the time we arrived which was a shame. It made getting photos in the areas we wanted too pretty tricky but I think we managed to get some good ones:
This year they had even added a telephone box, just for something different:
This was the girls giving us some attitude:
Before replacing their scary faces with smiles:
It was hard just choosing a few so sorry for the overload:
A really lovely day.
As always I am linking in with the wonderful Fiona and Country Kids.

August 13, 2016 at 9:01 am (8 years ago)Poppy is so lovely, what a gorgeous comment to make and how obliging. Clio could learn a lot! You make the most of the lovely photos while you can, it will all change soon enough. I’d love to visit some lavender fields just to be able to take photos like these, though I’d need to borrow your girls too as my spotty teenage boys really don’t fit! Glad they had their ice cream and enjoyed the day in the end.
Thank you for linking up and sharing with me on #CountryKids

August 15, 2016 at 12:51 pm (8 years ago)Beautiful photos of you all enjoying the Lavender field 🙂 I remember visiting a lavender field with my family when I was younger and it is something I would love to do with my own girls, I don’t think there are any near us but I am sure we will get to one at some point, it is on my list of things to do with my children. The lavender ice cream sounds very interesting too 🙂 #countrykids

August 16, 2016 at 7:07 am (8 years ago)Definitely not too many pictures, your girls are beautiful. Laughed at the comment about going cos you want to and smiling for pics.
I have to agree for children there is not much to interest them, and like any attraction it is hard to get photos without people in the picture. #countrykids
