Families all over the Country have been enjoying this beautiful Easter weather and we are no different.

Poppy’s new school topic for next term is “The Seaside ” and for her homework over the holidays we had to talk about the seaside, maybe visit and make something to do with it too. After a lovely chat we knew exactly what to do.

So on Wednesday we headed to the beach. We were going to go to Brighton but when Poppy saw photos of the pebble beach she wasn’t impressed. She wanted sand! A quick search online and we discovered Littlehampton, about an hour and a half away with a combination of sand and pebbles so off we went.

The weather was beautiful, perfect for the girls new summer dresses. It really was surprisingly lovely. The girls couldn’t wait to run in the sea. They jumped in the waves and in minutes were soaked and stripped down to their knickers (well except Rosie that is). I hadn’t thought it would be warm enough for swimming stuff but apparently it was.

Luckily Mummy had thought to bring towels and spare clothes.

Once they were all dried and changed we went for a yummy lunch at the Harvester and then a scoot along the seafront.

Littlehampton is lovely and well set up too. The beach was very clean. There’s plenty of room to scoot or cycle, things to climb on, play parks, a funfair, the usual grassy area and plenty of toilets aswell. Everything you need for a great family day out and we would definitely go back.

I’m just going to let our photos do the talking and you will see what I mean:

Of course we collected lots of gorgeous shells for the homework project which Poppy set to work on the very next day. Armed with my glue gun and a photo frame I’ve had for a while but not got around to filling, she made this:

I think her Teacher will like it. We are going to put a photo of her and her sisters in it too.

All in all a gorgeous Spring day outside in the British sunshine.
