I love Christmas and can't believe after all the build up and planning, it is over already.
For us it was the first time we could do what “normal” people do. What I mean by that is that we don't usually live so close to family which means either we go to either side of the family for a few days/weeks or they come to us. This time we were able to get up and do our own little family thing just the five of us and then go and have lunch and do the whole big family thing. Or as my Sister-in-law said ” go have lunch and mess up their house before going home” haha.
The girls were amazed when they came downstairs and saw all the pressies, it was magical seeing them so excited. They were delighted to see Santa and his reindeer had enjoyed their goodies. We then let them open their stockings before enjoying a lovely cooked breakfast (We had a late Christmas dinner planned). It really was lovely.
Next we all opened presents. Of course we really should have just wrapped a load of boxes as it was them and the wrapping paper that were played with most:
I wont forget Rosie (aged 2) telling us she loved her scooter but she thinks Santa must have run out of purple paint! Cheeky little Madam.
Time for a quick bit of scooting before heading over to Nanny and Gramps. Luckily it was warm and dry – note Daddy's present too. Honestly he is the biggest child of all.
Its only a short drive to my Parents house and my Nana was staying there too. Father Christmas had been their too so lots more pressies. I was very spoilt and received a very lovely goody bag filled with gorgeous girly things just for me. Dad and Husband then took the girls out on their scooters again whilst us Women just chilled cooked dinner and looked after Daisy 🙂 it really was a lovely day.
Dinner was delicious, the company perfect. The girls were all very well behaved but started to get grumpy around their usual bath time, so we called it a night and came home. We then got the girls in bed and sat down to catch up on some Christmas TV and enjoyed a few chocolates too.
The only thing missing was my Sister and her boys. It wasn't the same doing FaceTime, we really did miss them.
Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas.
