One of our faveourite times of day in this house is our evening routine. After a busy day playing and learning these girls are ready for bed (as is Mummy). As soon as dinner is over we pretty much start calming down.

The noisier toys are switched for quieter ones and then all are tided away before some warm milk. They might sit quietly and watch a bit of something on the tv then, the lights are dimmed and the mood is relaxing.

Next up it's bathtime. A fun and messy affair before piling into Poppy's bedroom and getting into pjs, ready for stories. We read lots of stories in this house and they all have their favorites (another post coming soon). We all lie sprawled out on Poppys bed then, unless Daisy is being disruptive. If that happens she goes straight to bed (without any fuss). They all enjoy this part of the day.

Normally they are pretty good and all go into their own rooms at this point with lots of kisses and cuddles and go off to sleep without any trouble…however, they are children and sometimes they suddenly have a burst of energy and decide it's playtime not bedtime. Like one night last week.

In this case Poppy was the ringleader but she's not always. They quickly all burst into fits of giggles and joined in. Fortunately for me it was only a mad 5 minutes before peace resumed but it did make me smile.

I love it that my girls are giggly and playful together and hope they stay like this always.
