I don’t know about you but I hate seeing little girls in bikinis. First of all I think their delicate skin should be covered up and protected from the sun and secondly, dare I say it? … There are plenty of weirdos out there and I don’t think we need to parade our daughters around them in what is effectively a pair of bra and knickers! It’s a real shame we even have to think like that but for parents today it is a real worry.
My big girls however, don’t share my concerns and Rosie especially has been after one for about two years now. Therefore when we were asked by Frugi to help with their latest swimwear campaign I was thrilled to see their Trevose Tankini was a fantastic compromise and the girls were too. Usually they are very grateful to review anything and are very kind to each other saying “it’s your turn” but when it came to these, there was no backing down. They both wanted one. Thankfully Frugi came to rescue and very kindly sent them one each to avoid any arguments. A huge thank you for that, it was very much appreciated:
Travoise Tankini – £20.00
Frugi really do make truly scrumptious clothes and we really are genuine fans. They always manage to get it right with fun and funky prints and designs, in clothes children can truly wear and play in. Yes they have definitely got it right again with this tankini. A two piece that will make little girls feel grown up but with a top long enough to cover up their bodies and UPF 50+ to protect them from the sun. Perfect. Happy little girls and a happy Mummy too.
We especially love the criss cross design on the back which helps prevents any slipping off the shoulders and the frill around the top of the bottoms…an adorable girly touch on what is not an overly girly design:
As with all Frugi products you can really tell the quality. There is nothing flimsy about this tankini, they will last for years i’m sure. Their clothes always do. The colours are so bright and cheerful too, I don’t think we will lose any of these girls this summer. If they venture too far from us they will definitely stand out in the crowd.
In terms of sizing, they are pretty generous. I have super tall girls for their ages and am used to sizing up for dresses because they need the length. We really didn’t need to size up with these though.Still, they look gorgeous and the girls say they are very comfortable too. I am sure they are going to get plenty of wear this season:
So that’s us ready for the Summer and our holidays now. How about you?
As always don’t forget to pop over to the other members of the Frugi Family including the lovely chelsea Mamma to see what she picked for her son.
Karen x
We received these tankinis as part of our involvement with the Frugi Family. However, all words and opinions are our own.

May 17, 2016 at 10:16 am (9 years ago)Oh the tankini is lovely! I’m with you on the bikini thing, its just not right for little girls and I hate the skimpy costumes too. But tankinis are perfect when they get a little older! We chose the suit in the same design and love it so much 🙂 Gorgeous pics by the way, as always x x

May 17, 2016 at 10:58 am (9 years ago)Well done Frugi, They look lovely, we like to keep our girls covered up too, they are currently happy to wear the uv suits as long as they get to pick the designs, they seem to keep them warmer.

May 17, 2016 at 11:32 pm (9 years ago)I completely agree with you about little ones not needing to be in bikinis! I’m amazed people manufacture them let alone buy them! But your girls look super sweet in their tankinis!
