This week has been especially lovely for the children because my Sister has been here with her boys. The Cousins have had great fun playing in the sun together and its been lovely to see. For me, I have been a bit grumpy and fed up as our little bundle went overdue despite trying everything to help her along.
Monday – We had a bit of a quiet day as I wasn’t feeling that great. We went for a bit of a walk around in an attempt to get this baby out! This afternoon I walked over to meet a friend for coffee at Costa before coming back here and letting her boys play with my girls in the garden…lovely!
Tuesday – I had a midwife appointment this morning which went really well. She seems to think I will not need to be induced and that the baby will be here in the next few days which made me feel better. This afternoon we went across to my Parents and the children played with William and Thomas in the garden whilst I chatted to my Mum and Sister. It was lovely but ended in a bit of melt down as they were both hot and bothered.
Wednesday – Poppy and Daddy’s Birthday. Poppy was 4 and suddenly seemed so much grown up. Due to being so heavily pregnant and having just moved I hadn’t organised anything big. Instead we had my Sister and her boys pop over for a birthday lunch and some ballerina birthday cake. It was a lovely afternoon and we got to chill for a bit whilst the kids played together. It makes all the difference having some sunshine. Later my Mum popped in but Dad wasn’t very well so kept his germs away. By the evening I started to get really bad back ache and thought the baby was coming but it all died down 🙁
Thursday – We had a quiet one today as we were all absolutely shattered. We took the girls to Toysrus this morning (I just needed to walk about). They had great fun on the bikes, scooters and cars and so did Daddy. This afternoon whilst Rosie was napping, Husband took Poppy to check out the local pool letting me have a rest and a little snooze which was lovely. They really liked the pool and cant wait for us all to go together. This afternoon the girls did some painting and played with Poppy’s birthday toys.
Friday – We headed over to my parents for a special Team GB Birthday lunch for my Brother-In-Law. It was lovely to have the whole family together but I was exhausted. Husband and I came back with Rosie just after 1pm as we were expecting the girls trampoline to arrive but Mum kept Poppy for William to play with and dropped her back later which was a nice break. It made me remember how easy one child was and worry a bit about how hard having 3 might be!
We put the trampoline up and when Rosie got up she had great fun testing it out as well as playing with the box it came in. This evening we watched the opening Ceremony of the Olympics but I didn’t make it to the end, I was very uncomfortable all the way through and thought I was in labour…no such luck though:
Saturday – Today we headed into town just so I could just walk about a bit more. I ended up having some acupuncture to induce labour which was nice (?). It kind of throbbed a bit and tingled so I wouldn’t say it was the most relaxing experience i’ve ever had but I am hoping it works. Fingers crossed. The girls had good fun running around, lunch out and then an afternoon in the garden.
Sunday – We had a bit of a lazy morning today and then went out to lunch which was lovely. The girls had great fun playing in the children’s area and at least I was out and about walking around. Been getting pains all day and night but then nothing! Very fed up and grumpy, wish people would stop ringing to ask if baby here yet or are things happening!….NO they are not!!
Tonight Rosie wasn’t happy/well and screamed for 2 hours (complete melt down and nothing would console her). Gave her some medicine nad a cuddle and she finally went to bed like normal with no further trouble so no idea what was wrong. I think the whole family have had enough of waiting now.
