I have told you all about Little Dish meals for toddlers before but finally got to try some out on my girls.
Each meal is made with 100% natural ingredients and is tested by a panel of tiny testers before they reach the stores. They can be found in the chilled compartments of Sainsbury’s, Tescos, Waitrose and Ocardo.
There is quite a variety to choose from but we managed to get our hands on the Spaghetti and Meatballs, Chicken Risotto, Mild Chicken Korma and Chicken and Two Veg Pasta.
I usually cook everything from scratch for my girls but being heavily pregnant there have been days recently where the exhaustion has hit and it has been a real effort to sort out tea.
On one of those days when I felt terrible I decided to try these out. I showed them to the girls and let them pick one each. Poppy picked Spaghetti and meatballs whilst Rosie picked the Chicken Korma.
This is what they looked like after a few minutes in the microwave:
I thought they certainly looked liked something I would make. There are big chunks of meat and lots of sauce. I couldn’t taste them as I am vegetarian but Husband did and thought they were pretty tasty.
Here are a few pictures to show you what the girls thought:
As you can see, Rosie couldn’t wait. Despite being quite efficient with her spoon and fork she was stuffing it in with her fingers! Poppy gave hers the big thumbs up. They also tasted each others and thought they were good.
Poppy is almost 4 and Rosie is 22 months and the portions seemed about right for them. If your little ones are a bit younger or have small appetites you could half the portion and perhaps add some vegetables. This is how much my girls left:
I think their plates are all the evidence you need. These meals passed the taste test with my little ones.
