So Daisy started Preschool today (called Nursery here) and after drop off, this Mummy was left feeling pretty emotional.

Just like her big Sisters, Daisy was a Summer baby and only just turned 3 during the holiday. In the past, my two big girls flew off into school with barely a glance back and I was happy for them, not sad at all. This time round it felt different though.

It wasn’t that Daisy looked any younger or was any less ready but being the last of them I realised my littlest is growing up and this is the start of a whole new chapter for us. I had a big lump in my throat and a few tears I can tell you. It really was an emotional start to the day and totally unexpected.

I now have one Daughter in Preschool, one in infants and one in juniors. Life really is going to be different.

Daisy was very excited to finally be going to “school”. The Nursery class is next door to Rosie’s old Reception class so Daisy has been able to see the area every day for the past year and known she would get to go there soon.

She was disappointed she didn’t have a uniform but was pleased with her new book bag. She told me she played, coloured in, sang songs and enjoyed a story. She also ate snacks and had a peg with an orange fish on it. Thats more than I get out of her big Sisters usually so i’m happy for her. It was a great morning and she can’t wait to go back next Monday.

I think the reason for these feelings is that when Poppy started Preschool I still had Rosie at home and appreciated a bit of one to one time with her. Then when Rosie started, I appreciated the quality time with Daisy. Now though I’m going to have no one at home. It’s going to be strange. What will I do with myself?

Okay thats a silly question, there’s loads i could do. I could tidy the house, do a bit of blogging, go for a run or to the gym, maybe even meet friends, go for a coffee or tackle my monster ironing pile. I know its only for a few hours each morning and the time will fly by but life is going to be different. My last one is going to grow up a lot over the next few months/ year. I miss the little her already.

Anyway here a few more photos of my little big girl this morning and one of the lovely goodies they gave each of us Mums as we dropped them off. A lovely touch I thought!
