It’s funny how sometimes when you do something it sends you back to another time and place and you remember doing it as a child.

Last week we were in Cornwall and among others we discovered a local beach which we returned to at least once a day. We called it the secret beach because it was mostly empty with the occasional dog walker. There was a long stretch of beach and depending on the tide, rock pools too. But the thing the girls most enjoyed was playing in the sand dunes. It reminded me of happy times playing in them myself as a child. I couldn’t remember where or when but I did remember that feeling of freedom as we ran through them and scaring my Mum silly as we jumped from them too:

It was pretty windy down on the beach but high up on the sand dunes they were sheltered from that so warmer. They spent a good few hours just climbing, running up and down them and jumping from them too. Of course Mummy and Daddy joined in too:

Such fun and tired them out too. I must admit they slept well on holiday.
