Nestled in amongst the trees and bushes at Claremont Landscape Garden in Surrey, is a little thatched cottage. Somewhere we have discovered previously and been back to many times. Last weekend we went back again and had a great time.
If you visit Claremont you mustn’t miss this this place. It’s a wonder for little ones…a place filled with fun for children to enjoy. No rules about what they can or cannot touch just a hut full of fun and games with a Georgian and Victorian twist. There are games from the past, a selection of dressing up clothes and lots of toys for children to enjoy. My girls love it there!
Children can take time out to enjoy traditional entertainment such as playing cards and Happy Families or like my girls enjoy playing with the wooden toys like hobby horses, yo-yos, hula hoops and of course the swords.
Here’s my three little worriers in action. We had to stop eventually though as Daisy almost took off my head!
The little thatched cottage is definitely top of our list of places to visit each time we go back to Claremont.
Other things they enjoy doing are buying some special food to feed the ducks and birds with:
and of course hill rolling. They always do this. You just can’t help yourself. Last weekend though they decided to climb a steeper bit than usual were a bit cautious about rolling down it in the usual way. Instead the younger ones came down sort of shuffling on their bottoms whilst poppy took a short cut running down at an angle…all fun whichever way you do it.
There is lots to see and do at Claremont but do you know what? Even though there is a fantastic play park and Natural play area too, we didn’t even visit them this time and they didn’t even notice! They had so much fun doing other stuff it was only in the car on the way back they remembered. Oh well there is always another time:
This wasn’t an all day trip for us this time but it easily could have been if we had taken a picnic!
Have you been having fun outdoors this week?
