We didn’t go away this half term as husband couldn’t get much time off. Instead we stayed home and recharged our batteries, ensuring that we all felt fully rested and ready to return to School. We enjoyed a few family days all out together, a few quiet ones at home with Mummy and a few full on fun ones with my Sister and “the Cousins”. It really was lovely.

One of the best days though was midweek when my Sister and I took them all to Kew Gardens. First I amazed myself when I managed to get us all up and dressed, pack up a picnic and arrive there before10am but get there we did and it was brilliant!

Days out with Auntie D are always fun because she takes hot chocolate and mini marshmallows wherever she goes. Drinking it in the tress at the top of the treetop was particularly exciting for them all and gave them the energy to keep walking until lunch time;

The children had a great time running around and exploring. The boys enjoyed showing my girls places they have been before like the badger sect, the girls enjoyed showing them their balancing skills around the play trail and they all enjoyed exploring new areas together. Luckily I thought to take the pushchair as it would have been quite a bit of walking for the two littlest ones. Neither really use it much these days but were able to hop in and out all day:

The gardens were looking lovely with snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses everywhere. A definite sign that Spring is on its way.

We finished off with a play in the indoor and outdoor play areas and then headed back. Even though they were absolutely shattered at this point, there was still lots of fun to be had. In fact they didn’t want to leave:
