I’ve always looked at those Mums who run with their running strollers enviously, thinking they must be so fit and dedicated but that it looked far too difficult for the likes of me (an ordinary Mummy who wants to be fitter and thinner).

Prior to having children I was a fitness freak and runner. After having both Poppy and Rosie I found getting out running too difficult but did exercise to lose the baby weight within a year. After Daisy and with three under five, I found it really difficult to find any energy to exercise but this year have made a real effort to get fit and to get out running. Each time I have happily run 5ks but with my Husband away a lot in the week I wasn’t getting out nearly often enough. Some weeks it would be once or twice whilst others not at all.

Then, a few weeks ago in my role as a Britax Ambassador, I came to hear about one of their latest products – the BOB Revolution Pro. Designed for both city and sport, it has a swivel front wheel, which offers ultimate versatility. It is approved for running and skating aswell as everyday trips like the school run or around town. Thinking it could be the answer I was looking for I jumped at the chance to review it.

Now this isn’t my review yet (that’s coming soon) but I did want to share with you how I am getting on. In my first week I ran approximately 17ks. I am so impressed with myself!! I do not claim to be fast or glamorous but I’m out there doing it and It’s not half as hard as I thought it would be. You barely have to push this thing, it just glides along.

In the morning on running days, I do the school run and then go for a run with just Daisy. I’m out for around 30-40 minutes. There’s still plenty of time then for a shower, to tidy up, playtime and even fit in a toddler group, trip to the shops or catch up with friends before I need to pick Rosie up from Preschool at lunchtime. It’s perfect!

I’m finding I enjoy exercising first thing as it sets me up for the day. I am feeling more positive, have more energy, feel thinner already, and am more patient with the girls. I’m even getting jobs done at home (like my huge irioning pile – it’s gone)! I am one happy Mummy.

At weekends we have all gone out as a family. Poppy on her bike, Daddy and Rosie speeding along on their scooters whilst I jog with Daisy. The girls call out “come on Mummy, keep up” it’s lovely. We are all out and about exercising together. They love it and I feel as though I’m setting them a good example. I think it might become part of our Sunday morning routine now.

I’m wondering why I didn’t buy one of these things years ago and thinking that I am going to be addicted to running all over again in no time. The Bob Revolution Pro is already changing my life and in just over a week I’m already feeling the benefit.

My aim is to try to get out between 3 and 5 times a week. Watch this space for more fitness updates aswell as Daisy’s opinion and my full review.
