This year the girls enjoyed a little halloween party and had their first taste of trick or treating. They were very excited to wake up to the house being decorated with balloons, banners and decorations they had made the previous day, a sign on the front door saying “BEWARE” and they pretty much wore their outfits all day.
My Sister and her boys came over for the whole afternoon and then a few more came in time for tea. It was a very laid back affair with just 9 children but they all loved it. Poppy nominated herself the resident DJ in charge of music and party games and everyone danced for sweets.
We all enjoyed a bit of a party tea with pizza, sandwiches, crisps and snacks. There was green and black jelly and lots of spooky cakes and treats. We had thought of doing party games like apple bobbing but they were all quite young and except for Poppy didn’t want to put their faces in water. They just wanted to dance really so we played games like “Monster Statues” and Musical Bumps”. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Then we went out to knock on the doors and join in with the halloween fun. We have never done it before because we don’t really let them have sweets. They have them at parties and in party bags but we don’t generally buy them. Occasionally we buy a bag of harribo if we need really good photos or are on a long car journey like to France but that’s it. Needless to say we now have enough to last for ages!
Of course I couldn’t let this post go without a photo of our lovely pumpkins – one lovely Tinkerbell one and one scary one. I would love to take credit for them but it was actually Husband that did these as requested by the girls;
Hope you all enjoyed a spooky evening too 🙂
