Its a week after my baby girl abruptly entered this world and I am finally starting to feel more human again. At the end of last week I felt dreadful. My body felt as though it had been hit by a train……everything hurt. I had pretty bad after pains which were made even worse by my daughters poking and kicking me in the stomach as they climbed on me for numerous cuddles.
I forgot how it feels after giving birth – with an empty bump, huge, solid and very sore boobs (bigger than your newborns head), lumps the size of golf balls under your arm pits etc, not to mention down below – you just don’t feel your best. On top of all that I seem to have had injection points in my hands, spine, leg and arm which all ached too.
This week I am out of my maternity clothes and feel great about it. I’m going to give myself a few weeks to recover first and am then going to get back into some exercise and shape up. I don’t feel as though I have put a huge amount on but then I haven’t dared step on the scales yet either.
Husband went back to work today and I had my first day with the three of them by myself. To be honest it was a nightmare….Daisy spent the whole day screaming. Poor little thing though finally threw up a ball of congealed stuff and had a dirty nappy about 5pm and since then has been as happy as anything. I hope that’s the last of the mucus and stuff that’s been causing her problems for the past week.
I am really loving having three little girls though so guess its all worth it.

August 7, 2012 at 8:14 pm (12 years ago)Loving seeing the quilt being used all over again, you are my best quilt recipient! I do hate it when people say “oh we’ve put it away, it’s too good to use”

August 7, 2012 at 8:37 pm (12 years ago)Its well loved and used, you are so clever! Rosie and Daisy have been wrapped up in it and they all use it as a play mat too. Its even been washed millions of times and still looks fab. A huge thank you all over again xx

August 8, 2012 at 7:14 am (12 years ago)Love the quilt. I made the same design last year for my youngest grandson. Boy do their quilts get dragged around and used. Much better to be faded and worn out than left in a cupboard.
In fact Clare I think it was seeing that quilt on your blog which inspired me as I was groping around for a design at the time.

August 10, 2012 at 7:05 pm (12 years ago)Its a gorgeous quilt and we use it all the time. Its much to pretty to hide away in a cupboard. When not being used it hangs over a chair in the nursery 🙂

August 10, 2012 at 7:02 pm (12 years ago)Aaahh thanks, its hard work…..not enough hands. The house is pretty noisy too. Daisy screaming sets the girls off or them being noisy sets her off. There are times when I feel like screaming too but we are getting there though x
