Today is of course a very special day as it’s the first Birthday of a certain young Prince. To help celebrate, Frugi, the truly scrumptious and ethical childrenswear brand, have been having fun designing a very special limited edition tshirt:
Founded in 2004 Frugi is the UK’s leading ethical and organic children’s clothing brand. Catering for newborn to ten years with a stylish breastfeeding wear range for mothers, their clothing is available to buy online from welovefrugi.com and via selected retailers nationwide.
We are huge fans of this brand and proud to be part of the Frugi family. They are passionate about making gorgeous clothes that are fun and quirky as well as practical. Perfect for children to be children in and made well enough to be passed down from one child to another.
Frugi are launching a run of only 60 of these beautifulorganic cotton t-shirts. Made of the softest cotton, they feature a beautifully detailed and quirky ‘Prince George and the Dragon’ applique. As part of the Frugi family we were fortunate enough to be sent one:
ow of course, I knew at once that this top would be gorgeous but not girly enough for my little Princess, so I asked if I would be able to pass it onto my little nephew which they agreed would be fine. I was advised it’s unisex but this is an extra girly household where only pretty skirts and dresses are worn in the girliest colours.
Maybe it should have had a pretty fairy or a princess riding next to Prince George haha. Anyway I haven’t been able to get it to him yet so Daisy is modeling it beautifully before I pass it over to him. I know it will be worn and loved as well as taken great care of:
Of course Daisy was never going to wear it with jeans or shorts, it had to be a tutu:
She was happy to model it but then then nothing could take away from the fact that it’s made of the most beautiful, softest, snuggliest organic cotton. Honestly I cannot tell you how soft it is. Children will not want to wear anything else. In fact I wish all my tops were this soft:
The neck is an envelope style making it easy to pop over little heads. The colours are lovely too. The appliqué is so detailed, despite it being too boyish for us, it really is lovely:
Daisy is not quite 2 and is wearing aged 2-3 years. It is obviously huge very generous and would fit for a long time. It will be perfect for my little Nephew though.
Founders Lucy & Kurt Jewson are hoping to present one of these to the Queen to give to Prince George, when they meet her at Buckingham Palace in July in recognition of the company’s recent Queen’s Award for Enterprise. I’m pretty sure it will be a huge hit and would be very surprised if it wasn’t passed on to Prince William and Kate.
As for the rest of the stock, Frugi have exciting plans for them so do keep your eyes peeled and if you have not already entered their charity raffle you can here.
There are 10 bloggers in the frugi family but I’m sending you on over to visit another little model at Chelsea Mamma. Please do check out the others too.
In the meantime a big Happy Birthday to Prince George and a huge congratulations to Frugi on their Award!

P.S a little update. This quickly became my little Nephews favourite top. He loves how soft and comfortable it is as well as the colours and appliqué. A very happy little boy indeed!

July 22, 2014 at 11:19 am (10 years ago)I’m gutted that Natty was too big for this fabulous T shirt, but we passed it to her nephew instead. She so would have worn it with a tutu too!

July 22, 2014 at 8:45 pm (10 years ago)I think it looks great with a tutu and I actually love it as a girl’s top – if they did my daughter’s size I know she’d adore it! Lovely photos.

July 24, 2014 at 6:49 am (10 years ago)Ah, I teamed it with a tutu for Bella too as she initially declared it wasn’t pink and wasn’t keen on trying it! Luckily she loves dragons though so all was well in the end! Gorgeous photos 🙂 x x
