We love pasta in this house and enjoy making home made sauces to go with it. I was therefore delighted to be offered the chance to review the new fresh filled pasta for children from Little Dish.
It is available in two flavours and we were sent one of each to try, mini tortellini with cheese and tomato and mini ravioli with spinach and ricotta:
When they arrived we couldn’t wait to get trying them, so had the fist one for tea that night. The girls picked the cheese and tomato one and I started to make a tasty tomato sauce for them. I took out the onion, tomatoes, chilli, garlic, basil and tomato purée before Daddy came into the kitchen and took over despite my protests:
This is a very quick and easy meal to cook yet healthy too. Made with 100% natural ingredients there is nothing scary in it so I had no problems making it for my girls.
You just bring the water to boil and drop the pasta in for just a few minutes. It comes out light and fluffy and deliciously full of flavour. It looks just like other ranges of fresh filled pasta except that this one offers smaller pieces for smaller mouths.
There’s plenty in one bag for between 2 and 4 little ones depending on the children’s age and size of tummies. Poppy and Rosie are aged 4 and 2 and both have good appetites. They both enjoyed good sized portions. Here’s our two little serving’s minus what Mummy ate to test during the cooking and review process (well I had to try it didn’t I? and for the record it was yummy)!:
The girls loved the pasta, unfortunately for Daddy they weren’t so keen on his sauce though (serves him right). They made me scrape most of the sauce off but ate all the pasta. Here’s their happy faces after giving it the thumbs up:
The following week we tried the spinach and ricotta one just topped with cheese and it was demolished too.
Little Dish fresh filled pasta gets a big thumbs up from this family.
If you want to try it for yourselves it is now available from both Waitrose and Ocardo.
