This half term we tried something new and drove to France for a week in the sun.
We headed to Vendee on the West Coast of France, picking it because it was far enough away to be warmer but not quite as long a journey as it would have been to go to the South. After all we only had a week and it was the first time we had done such a long journey with all of us.
Having never done this sort of holiday before we weren’t sure what to expect but we loved it.
Think sun, sea, sand, plenty of ice creams and lots of outdoors family fun. That’s exactly the sort of holiday we were after and exactly what we got. The girls all behaved themselves, having fun playing with each other. We all just completely unwound and just enjoyed quality family time together.
A week flew by in a blur and none of us were ready to leave. We had all relaxed into a lovely routine and all could have stayed longer. It was so nice just being away from everything and not having to rush off to school, work, ballet lessons or gymnastics classes for a change.
I have so many gorgeous photos and memories I want to record so I’m sorry to say my next few blog posts will be literally be filled with them. I will be writing a separate post about the journey, how it really was travelling across France with three little ones and about Eurocamp whom we chose to stay with. I even have a few fashion posts lined up too. However, for now I just want to share some of our happy family photos:
It wasn’t a holiday full of sightseeing or tourist attractions. We did visit a local port which I will probably write up seperatley but apart from that stuck to the pools on site and the beach. It was perfect for us. We dawdled to the onsite bakers each morning, I then went for a run, then it was head to the pool or the beach for simple holiday fun. We spent so much time in the water, the girls thought they might be mermaids! They particulalry enjoyed the waterslides and Poppy even learnt to swim. I will have to write about that later too!
The big girls did enjoy some time away from Mummy and Daddy when they headed off to kids club for a few hours. We had never done this before but the girls really enjoyed it. So much so, it was a highlight of the holiday for them. Daisy was too young to be left but enjoyed some quality time with both Mummy and Daddy. You could tell she enjoyed not having to share us, whilst Husband and I relaxed more with only having to keep our eyes on one child for a change. I think it worked well all round.
As you can see a proper relaxing family holiday, enjoyed by us all. Some real magical memories to treasure forever.
Now we just can’t wait for the summer holidays so we can go away again. Once more I am on the look out for a good deal. Who knows, maybe we will make it onto a plane next time. Fingers crossed!
