Honestly the things I do for my blog!
This time it's epilating my hairs away.
You might remember back in ….. I was asked to become a Panasonic Brit Blogger. I had to choose 2 out of four products I might like to review and was thrilled to receive my first choice, a lovely pair of hair straightners. I thought that would be it until I received another email just before Christmas telling me to expect my new epilator soon.
Aaahhh what had possessed me to put that as my second choice was my first reaction. To be honest I was more than a little bit scared. I had not used one since my first try in senior school a long time ago and although I used to wax my legs I haven't done it since having children 6 years ago.
The Panasonic ES-ED90-P is a wet/dry Epilator which can be used in the bath or shower for a more gentle experience.
It features dual wide discs with 48 tweezers to enable fast and precise epilating even on short hair (0.5mm). The swivel head swings 60-degrees forwards and backwards to follow the contours of your body for even, long-lasting results and 2 speed settings allow for the freedom to change intensity whenever you like.
In the box along with the instructions and guarantee you will find six attachments:
An epilating head for legs and arms
A gentle cap
A foot care head for the removal of dry, callused skin
An epilating head for underarms and bikini line
A shaver head
A bikini comb
Other key features include a built in light to help illuminate your skin and highlight any unwanted hairs that you might miss and it is fully washable too. There is a little brush to help with this too.
Now for the nitty gritty.
Foot care
As I was a bit nervous I decided to try the foot care head out first. I was a bit ticklish at first but once I got used to it I relaxed and enjoyed it. The results were impressive. In fact they were so good husband had a go on his feet too. I must admit I love my new softer feet and believe this is a great feature.
Epilating legs
I had intended to post a video of my first use but I'm afraid I squealed quite a bit and decided not to share. I must admit I tried it first dry which really did hurt and then wet with shower gel. Personally I noticed a huge difference in pain levels. Adding water and a generous blob of shower gel did not make it pain free but definitely made it sting less.
The advantage of going through this pain was hair free legs for a good 4 weeks.
Epilating underarms
After my legs I was terrified that this sensitive area would really really hurt but actually it was less painful then expected. I made sure the area was very wet and used the shower gel with the soft speed. It did sting quite a bit but I didn't scream. I think the swivel head really helped with reaching hairs easy. Although I was a little red afterwards it was nothing like expected. I was impressed.
Bikini line
I'm afraid this was a step too far and I haven't had the courage to try this yet. I know I should have but honestly I was scared. However with an epilator head specifically for this area as well as a shaver head and bikini comb I'm all set for when I'm completely ready for it.
Here's a short video of it in action:
Although I cannot compare to other makes and models I would definitely say if you are looking for an epilator then this one is pretty good. Whilst far from pain free, using it wet and with foam makes for a softer/ more gentle experience and the hairs don't grow back quickly either. I particularly like the foot care head and think this is a great bonus.
Widely available it is usually priced at £129.99 but if you hurry it is currently on offer at Amazon for just £79.99.

For the record I recieved this epilator as part of my involvement with the Panasonic Brit Bloggers Programme and for the purpose of review. All words and opinions are my own though.
