Once upon a time there were a family of five: a Mummy, Daddy and three little princesses. Poppy (aged 5), Rosie (aged 3) and Daisy (aged 1). Unfortunately Daddy had to work away in the week so they all dreamed of going on holiday and spending some quality family time together.

They all loved the great outdoors so decided that Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest would be the ideal place for their little break. They started excitedly planning their dream day. They checked out the website and other bloggers videos and were really inspired (especially by An Adventure With Little Ones). With so much on offer from cupcake decorating and pottery workshops to messy play and the more extreme outdoor adventures, there really was something for everyone regardless of age or ability:

It wasn’t difficult to find things to do, just to fit it all in. Eventually they all agreed they wouldn’t rush to try and cram it all in in one day as that wouldn’t be relaxing at all. Anyway they had a few days to plan, not just one.

One thing they all agreed on though was that they would love to have their Grandma, Sister and 2 Cousins to come and join them. After all they lived really close by and loved adventures in Sherwood Forest too.

After much deliberation they decided their dream day would go something like this:

They would stay in one of the beautiful two-storey Exclusive Lodges complete with maid service and private spa, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub. Or maybe even the Treehouse. After all this was a dream wasn’t it?

After a good nights sleep in the most comfortable beds ever, they would wake up in the morning excitedly peering through the windows to spot wildlife like squirrels, deer and birds. The view would be so pretty they would feel as though they were a million miles away from home and instantly relax.

They would enjoy a yummy breakfast together and once fuelled go for a cycle ride in the Forest. It would be a warm, bight sunny day but not too hot! It would be a bit of an experience with Rosie bombing around on her balance bike and Mummy not having cycled for a long while.

Daddy would pull Daisy along whom would squeal with excitement at everything. Of course she would prefer her own bike but wouldn’t last the distance:

Poppy would navigate the way and they would stop for lots of breaks so Daddy and Mummy could take goreous photos of their girls and Cousins playing together in the beautiful surroundings:

Whilst out in the woods they would enjoy a yummy picnic whilst keeping an eye out for more wildlife. Ideally they would spot some up close.

Once back and after a little rest and cup of tea for the grown ups and milk or hot chocolate for the little ones, It would be time to get messy at the pottery workshop. The girls would have great fun picking things to paint. Poppy would take great care doing it as neatly as she could, Rosie would happily slop the paint on all over and Daisy might do some hand and footprints which they could all bring home as souvineers. Last time they did something like this they painted egg cups:

Next up it would be time for a swim. With lovely warm water everyone would relax and enjoy themselves, The big girls would enjoy the slides and bubbles whilst Daisy would splash about, waggling her arms and legs in delight. Lots of fun!

After dinner, Mummy and Daddy would sneak off for some much needed time out together and enjoy the twilight spa experience, leaving the girls in the safe hands of their Auntie and Grandma. Everyone would be happy!

It would be a wonderful day full of giggles and fun. Then there would be the next day……time for more great adventures.

The End.

Oooohhh it all sounds so idyllic! We want to go now.

This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 January challenge. If Iā€™m chosen, I would like to visit Sherwood Forest please.

“pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top. Love Poppy” (aged 5 on behalf of us all).
