With all the sickness we’ve had in this house, my blogging has sadly slipped a little. I have so much to write about but have kind of had my hands full for the past six weeks. Anyway here’s a post about a day out during our trip to Wales over February Half Term. This is the day we went to New Quay, Cardigan.
It was a very special trip made even more special because we were visiting my very best friend Sarah. I’ve known Sarah for over 14 years now and she is like an Auntie to these girls. They love her like one too. We don’t see her nearly enough because she lives in Cardigan, Wales but we finally made it to stay with her in February and had a fantastic time. She’s fortunate to live in such a beautiful place, close to so many gorgeous beaches. We had lots of fun there and can’t wait to go again soon:
New Quay is so colourful. We love pretty little seaside towns with their picturesque colourful houses and boats bobbing on the water. Add in the thrill of perhaps spotting a dolphin and the girls were amazed by all that the this part of Wales has to offer: Sadly we didn’t actually spot any dolphins but we had fun searching and exploring:
Located on Cornwall’s Atlantic Coast, New Quay has been voted “One of the nation’s favourite seaside towns” in the prestigious Which Holiday Survey, “Best family holiday destination” by readers of COAST magazine, and has one of the UK’s top ten beaches on Trip Advisor!
Even on the wet, cold and very windy day we visited, it was easy to see why New Quay is so popular:
It’s golden sandy beaches and sheltered harbour, together with cafes, bars and facilities make it ideal for families. I imagine it gets quite busy in the height of summer but for us it was quiet and peaceful with just the odd dog walker around:
We had fun splashing in the shallows, making footprints, admiring the boats and trying really hard to spot even a single dolphin. New Quay is definitely somewhere we would like to return to on a sunny day:

March 31, 2018 at 4:00 pm (7 years ago)Looks like a lovely outing. It is always nice to connect with old friends. My son and I spent two days of our Spring Break with a friend that I met the first day of kindergarten, over 40 years ago. It was great to catch up.

March 31, 2018 at 5:39 pm (7 years ago)I have to say I have never visited but it does look lovely. It reminds me of many of the little Cornish harbour towns, so colourful and holiday like. there is some magical about a day at the seaside even in mid winter. Beautiful photos made all the better by the lovely colourful clothes the girls always wear.
Happy Easter to you all and thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids.
