Fed up of being sick and feeling much more human (girls not 100% but okayish) we decided to stick to our original plans and head off to Gloucester Quays to see the bi-annual Tall Ships display. My parents came too which was lovely.
We didn’t stay too long but the girls benefited from being out of the house and having a change of scenery. They enjoyed seeing some of the boats leave the docks as it was the last day today. They especially liked the Pirates!
There was plenty to see and do, including lots of stalls to look around, activities for the children and people in various costumes. It was lovely to see my big girls smile for a while but none of us had much energy and still ached all over from being sick. Daisy happily slept in her pram and missed all the excitement.
A Pizza Hut lunch went down well. Although the girls didn’t really eat much I was actually quite peckish after hardly eating since Tuesday. I happily munched away. Everyone enjoyed the ice cream though, perfect to sooth away sore throats.
I’m sure it would have been better if we were all fit and well but we are getting there slowly. Lets hope we get better soon so we can enjoy the rest of the half term holiday.
