We have just got back from a very relaxing family week away in Penzance, Cornwall. We stayed at Boswarthen Farm a working Dairy Farm which is part of the Featherdown Farm franchise. To be honest we have had such a fab week and have taken so many photos I didn’t know where to start for this post so let the girls choose for me. This walk was one of their highlights of the week. There will definitely be more posts to follow though. I can’t wait to tell you about it all, from where we stayed to the lovely owners who looked after us.
On Tuesday we went for a beautiful long walk, exploring the farm and surrounding land. The girls impressed me, walking for 2 hours with little whinging! The best bit though had to be meeting this very friendly Exmoor pony. He was one of 5 belonging to the owners of the farm but definitely the friendliest of the bunch, happily posing for photos and letting us pet him:
The area was beautiful. In places it was quite steep and rocky and reminded me of weekends exploring Dartmoor and Cornwall when I was younger. The girls had a great time pretending to be explorers and just kept going (nothing to do with the bag of Harribo in my pocket honest).
Not only did they get to climb, they collected treasures (pine cones and magic stones) and got to squelch in oozy sticky mud. Rosie of course wanted to have her photo taken everytime she saw purple flowers:
It was of course the perfect opportunity to capture us all together:
When it got to nap time, Daisy happily went to sleep on Daddy, oblivious to everything – even climbing back over the fence on the way back:
It really was a lovely way to spend the morning.
Linking this in with country kids as always but watch out for more posts about our exciting adventures this week.

April 18, 2014 at 11:32 pm (11 years ago)Nothing like the freedom of the Cornish Moors on a bright and breezy day. The girls did so well walking all that time and I love the photo of you all together. Sounds like a lovely family break. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids
