Due to moving next week we've had a lot on this summer and didn't get a chance to go away. However, what we did do was go out on lots of day trips to keep us busy.

One of the best things we did was to finally join the National Trust. Having been exploring a lot of their free areas this year, we knew the girls were interested and that we would use it. We are so glad we did as there are so many things to do. We won't run out of places to visit for a long time.

Our girls love being outdoors and are very interested in nature. Give them a field to run in, some snails and ladybirds to play with, a tree to climb or some flowers to pick and they are in their element. Add in some cows to see and it's a perfect day for little Daisy.

Here's a few of our photos from Hidcote Manor Garden. A beautiful Arts and Crafts garden in the North Cotswolds:

The girls had fun exploring narrow paved pathways and discovering secret gardens (I wouldn't recommend prams/pushchairs though – we took ours back after 10 mins as pathways too narrow for it).

They loved the Lilly pond with it's pretty pink flowers and pond-scatters, they climbed trees and hid in the wilderness, they tried croquet and had fun learning about bees as well as how different fruit and vegetables grow. So much to see and do. We even enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cafe.

A brilliant day out for the whole family. We didn't hear “I'm bored ” once.
