As Rosie has had chickenpox we haven't been able to get out and about like we usually would during the holidays. However, we are very lucky to have a lovely big garden to run around in, complete with swings, slide and a trampoline as well as a lovely tree to climb. It is this that has helped us stay sane these past 10 days.
This morning the big girls were playing out whilst Daisy was napping when they came running in squealing excitedly….They had found snails!
Rosie hadn't been this excited and animated in ages so we had to stop what we were doing and go and look.
They were being so sweet I couldn't resist grabbing the camera and taking some photos:
The girls spent ages looking at them, waiting for them to come out of their shells. They gave them big green leaves to lie on and sang them songs. Later they tried to race them but Poppy's fell asleep!
Honestly it kept them busy for ages.
I'm linking this in with Country Kids so do pop over & find more families enjoying the great outdoors!

August 3, 2013 at 8:43 pm (11 years ago)Oh sounds like you’ve had a rubbish time lately. Love that children find wonder in the smallest things and that’s got to be the best photo of a snail I’ve ever seen! Glad your girls are feeling better and smiling so beautifully again

August 3, 2013 at 9:53 pm (11 years ago)I am forever surprised at how a simple activity can keep them fascinated for so long. You can spend ages setting something up and they’ll do it for three minutes. Point them in the direction of snails and they are occupied all afternoon.
