A horrible virus has meant a miserable half term for Poppy but we were determined we would have at least one day out. So yesterday we headed off to Cattle Country thinking fresh air, animals and soft play would be just what the Doctor ordered.
Sadly we didn't see many animals. The animal trail wasn't suitable for pushchairs as it was swamped in mud. If we had known we would have taken the carrier! Husband thought he knew better and we did try to get round but the mud was so bad we had to turn back. We only managed to see some Wallabys and deer.
Not too bothered the girls had fun splashing in the gooey sticky mud, pretending they were going on a bear hunt and chasing their shadows. That was until they realised how dirty they were and then got upset (such girls):
They bounced on a pillow, enjoyed a tractor ride, played in the parks and played in a castle:
Overall a fun day out and we hope to go back again when it's less muddy.
For more fun days out check out Country Kids.

February 16, 2013 at 6:15 pm (12 years ago)These day trips provide a great introduction to farm animals, although it’s a shame the girls didn’t get to see many. I like their photo board and am really pleased with our own one here at Coombe Mill. Thanks for linking to Country Kids.

February 16, 2013 at 7:33 pm (12 years ago)I was pretty disappointed as the animals were what we went to see. They didnt advertise how muddy it was or that you couldn’t take pushchairs which was a real shame. Sliding around in t was fun though 🙂 x

February 16, 2013 at 11:03 pm (12 years ago)I can sympathize, although despite tones (lietally) of hard core, some parts of our farm are also like that at the moment, it has just been so wet this winter.
