What a lovely Christmas we have had. In fact I can hardly believe how quickly it went.

On the run up to it we had Husbands Mum and Partner visit for the day and we had a bit of Christmas dinner complete with Christmas crackers, a fun pudding and a little walk:

On the actual big day we enjoyed a quiet morning at home with just Husband and the girls. We awoke to the the lovely sounds of them all excitedly opening their doors and realising their stockings were full so Father Christmas had been. They were surprisngly very good and didn’t touch them but we lay there just enjoying listening to their quit, happy chatter for a good ten minutes before we went and got them. They were very sweet together. Then of course stockings were brought into our room and the girls all jumped on the bed excitedly opening everything. I didn’t take any photos but I love Christmas morning and stockings. i’m such a big kid myself.

After that we headed downstairs for breakfast and a few more pressies. We didn’t go mad this year but here are some of the much wanted presents and their happy faces:

Around 1pm things got busier as my Sister and her family (brother-in-law and two Nephews), our parents and Nana come to lunch. Neither my Sister or I had ovens big enough for the huge turkey she brought as well as everything else needed for a Christmas dinner for twelve so we divided the cooking between us. She did the turkey, cranberry and bread sauce, some potatoes cooked in goose fat as well as a few other roasted vegetables, gravy and meat stuffing whilst we did the rest of the vegetables, marmite potatoes cooked in vegetable oil, stuffing, onion gravy, Yorkshire puddings etc. It was amazing. It could have easily failed but it didn’t. It worked perfectly and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The finale was a spectacular pudding made by my Mum. Lots of the family dislike Christmas pudding and with Daisy’s egg allergy she came up with this…it was delicious:

There was of course lots of lovely pressies exchanged, a few chocolate and sweet treats enjoyed and maybe a bit of prosecco too. Then it was time for most of them to leave. My Nana stayed with us for the night though which was lovely as we really haven’t seen as much of her this year as we would have liked.

Boxing day we all got together again and went to Ham House for a walk and hot chocolates. It was lovely but a few of the children including Rosie weren’t feeling well. We did manage a few photos of us all though. This one has us all in, four generations of us all, definitely one to keep:

The next day we set off to Coombe Mill to celebrate new Year in style. We can’t wait to post lots of photos and let you know all about it.

What a lovely Christmas break! Hope you are all having a lovely Christmas too.

Happy New Year To You All.
