You know those days when things don’t quite go to plan? Well we had one of them last Saturday.
It started off good. The girls had spent time making little paper bags to collect their nature treasures in. We were heading to our favourite place Osterley Park to see if the blossom was ready to fall. Last year we had a problem with the settings on my Husbands new camera and the pictures didn’t turn out as well as planned, this year though we were determined to get it right but ended up not even taking the cameras! Thank goodness I at least had my mobile.
We were almost ready to go out. The girls were pretty much ready to get in the car we just needed to grab there cameras! Thats when it started to go wrong. The girls started squabbling by the front door, my camera was dead and I couldn’t find the spare battery. Never mind we could take the GoPro. Mmmmm couldn’t find that either, we took it on holiday a few weeks ago and didn’t put it back in its home!! Not good. Husband started to fret and get grumpy. I think he decided not to take his camera in response to the whole situation but then maybe his battery was dead too (he would never admit to that). Anyway off we went on a family day out minus the cameras.
Osterley Park is beautiful and one of our favourite places to visit. I write about it a lot because when we don’t want to venture far we always end up there. Its our families special place.
We enjoyed a lovely walk in the woods spotting all the birds, geese and duck nests along the way and a play in wooded area. The girls had great fun swinging high on the swings and the giggles were infectious.
It as one of those days when you really wish things were different and you had the big camera with you. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the bluebells were out. It really was a perfect way to spend our weekend.
Then of course we got to our blossom tree and discovered it was the weekend when the blossom would fall like snow. They had great fun playing in it and we managed a few shots but nothing like the amazing photos I had planned to capture….what a shame!
This weekend we are organised. The camera batteries are charged and ready, GoPro has been found and charged. We are ready. Lets hope its a lovely weekend.
As always I am sharing this with the lovely Fiona and her Country Kids linky. Th inspiration between our outdoors lifestyle.
