I love fireworks! Tonight we had planned to go to a local firework display which the girls were all looking forward to. However, all three were tired and whiny today so a last minute change of plan was required which actually worked out really well.
First the girls and I set about making yummy homemade chocolate apples with coconut and sprinkles, even Daisy had a go. Then we left them to set until later:
Once it started to get dark, we headed out into the garden with sparklers. The girls loved them and after their serious safety talk from Mummy, were very careful:
Next up we went inside to warm up and eat the delicious apples before bath time. The girls had received some gorgeous new onesies today to review and they couldn't wait to get in them. As you can see they fit good and look very snugly. They were thrilled with them:
Then once Daisy was in bed the big girls and I cuddled up in front of Poppy's bedroom window and watched 3 different firework displays that were all happening at the same time, right outside her window. It was amazing. We opened the window so we could hear them and felt like we were there.
The girls enjoyed a lovely evening and didn't feel as though they had missed out at all. No waiting in the cold and wet muddy field, bed as soon as they were finished, a lovely relaxed bonfire evening with my family… perfect.
