Over the past few weeks we have been putting Britax’s latest pushchair – the BOB Revolution Pro through it’s paces and are finally ready to tell you what we really think about it.
Designed for both city and sport, it has a clever swivel front wheel, which offers ultimate versatility. With just a flick of a switch the wheel can become fixed for sports mode or switched back to city use again. It is approved for running and skating as well as everyday trips and can be used from 6 months to 17kg/ 3years.
To test it out we’ve been shopping, used it for the school runs, taken it off road, running and have even been skating with it too. Our old one is redundant now. This is so versatile it does everything.
Now before I start I should tell you that I am not one of those super fit marathon runners (yet)! I am an ordinary Mummy who wants to rid her baby weight once and for all and get fit again. I used to run but after having children found it difficult getting out. When I did, I could do 5ks easily but with Husband working away a lot it just wasn’t happening frequently enough. When the opportunity came up to to review a BOB pushchair, I was thrilled, knowing it could be the answer to my problem.
I can tell you straight away that as a family we LOVE this pushchair and if you are looking to continue running or start exercising after having your baby, you couldn’t go wrong with this one.
Its a large and striking model. The wheels are huge and it’s solid and sturdy, perfect for our outdoor lifestyle. More importantly it’s super smooth for your little one and not difficult to run with.
Some of the highlights include:
The seat needs to be upright when out running but unlike other sports models it can recline too. We haven’t really needed this feature but appreciate it’s value for when you’re out and about at nap times.
We have been really impressed with the ease at which this thing goes up and down. You have to see it in action to believe it so I’ve included a little video clip:
Whilst there are other running buggies/ strollers on the market this one has been speficially approved for skating too. Great for keeping exercise fresh and exciting. Whilst I didn’t think you needed to see a video clip of me running, here’s one of Husband skating with it:
I think this photo shows what Daisy thinks about it. She happily squeals “weeeeeeee” if I speed up or go down hill and giggles when we go over the bumps. As you can see she’s got plenty of room in it, In fact she’s had plenty of compliments about her new wheels and looks happy here:
During weekends and holidays I can take the whole family out running with me. Top tip – If siblings are being grumpy and argumentative it’s a great way to cheer them up and tire them out. They regularly do 5ks on their bikes or scooters with me now:
Husband is really impressed with the BOB Revolution Pro! He likes the way it goes up and down so easily, is impressed with the suspension and says it feels really sturdy. Daisy absolutely adores it, climbing in it at every opportunity. It’s very spacious meaning she looks really comfortable and judging by her smiles and giggles, she really is. I love it because Daisy is safe and comfortable and she can’t get out of the 5 point harness.
Personally, the Bob Revolution Pro has given me the freedom to get on and do what I want to do, there’s no holding me back now. I plan to get out running between 3-5 times a week and be a fit and healthy Mummy who’s happy with the way she looks.
I must warn you though that it should come with a health warning – HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. In the first week I was so enthusiastic I did 17k followed by another 5k’s the following week resulting in muscle overuse and groin strain. As with any new fitness programme don’t forget to warm up, cool down, stretch and build up slowly. I learnt the hard way and set myself back 3 weeks!
Now there are just a few points that could be improved on but these would not put me off buying one. First of all whilst the storage bag is a large one, it’s quite difficult to actually get much in it (sneaky tip – ensuring the break is off does help a little). Secondly, whilst the seat is wide and comfortable there’s not as much head height, meaning if the hood is back it kind of runches up behind Daisys head. For this reason we tend to have the hood up most of the time. Not a huge problem though. Thirdly, whilst I consider £455 a fair and reasonable price for this stroller I would have liked to see a rain cover/weather shield included. Afterall they are a necessity in this country. Finally, as a very girly Mum I found the colour options very masculine and would have liked to have seen a more feminine colour choice available.
Like I said before though, none of these can take away from it being a fabulous choice or would stop me from buying one.
Honestly if you’re after a pushchair that can do it all I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one! It’s definitely changing my life and I wish I had had it sooner.
A huge thank you Britax.

I am extremely fortunate to be a Britax Mumbassador and therefore received this pushchair for the purpose of review. All words and opinions are my own though.
