Are you a runner, looking for a pushchair to do nothing but run with?
Regardless of whether you are a marathon runner or just a Mummy wanting to tone up, as long as you only need it for running (not trips to the shops or for the school run etc) then read on because I think I have the perfect one for you!
For the past 6 weeks Daisy and I have been trialling the BOB Ironman from Britax and let me tell you this baby is born to run! Having already reviewed the BOB Rebolution Pro (designed for dual use – City and sport) I was keen to see what the difference was.
Here’s a short video to show you what you get in the box and how easy it is to set up:
Selected to be the official stroller of the IRONMAN Triathlon it is also approved for running and skating. The bright yellow colour and size of this buggy means people will see you coming no matter what the weather.
Aside from the colour, the two main things you will notice with the BOB Ironman are the weight of it (only 23Ibs) and the wheels. Not only are they huge, they are also lightweight alloy with pneumatic tires and tubes, meaning they are fast and durable. Of course that front one is fixed too (the reason it’s unsuitable for anything other than running).
The BOB Ironman also features a state of the art, adjustable suspension system, which together with an adjustable reclining seat, ensures a smooth and confortable ride for your little one. I must admit we are hooked and love it!
You can use with this with babies as young as six months or from younger with the appropriate car seat and adapters. I certainly wish I had had it back then. As Daisy has just turned two I would be super fit by now!
The BOB Ironman has all the features I like on the BOB Revolution Pro but being lighter it’s even easier to push. I particularly like the brake systems and the wrist strap which I always use as well as these features:
It’s definitely well padded and comfortable even over the bumpiest terrain. Daisy just smiles and giggles the whole time we are out.
As with the Revolution Pro there are a few points that could be improved on but nothing that would put me off buying one. First of all, whilst the seat is wide and comfortable there’s not as much head height, meaning if the hood is back it kind of runches up behind Daisys head. For this reason we have the hood up most of the time. Not a huge problem though. Secondly, whilst I consider £455 a fair and reasonable price for this jogging stroller, I would have liked to see a rain cover/weather shield included. Afterall they are a necessity in this country and people like to run whatever the weather. Seeing as though this is just for running I wasn’t so worried about the colour this time round, the colour is striking and will definitely get you noticed but might not appeal to everyone. For that reason a few more colour options might be nice.
Like I said before though, none of these can take away from it being a fabulous choice or would stop me from buying one.
If you want to buy just one pushchair that does it all then the Ironman definitely is not for you. If however, you already have a travel system/ pram/ pushchair and therefore just want to run with it, then this is without a doubt the one I’d choose.
Another fabulous product, ensuring our little ones are kept safe and enabling us parents to get on with life. Thanks Britax.
