One of our favourite memories of our summer holiday in the Algarve this year, would have to be the night we went to the beach after dinner.

As soon as we arrived we spotted the waves. They were huge! Despite it being around 7pm the beach was packed and most of them were in the water. We had never seen anything like it:

Luckily we had our swimsuits on underneath our clothes so didn’t need to miss out on all the fun. Before I had a chance to even think about anything or assess the risk, Daddy and Poppy were in there. The other girls were happily running to the waters edge and back not wanting to get too wet but Daddy and Poppy were in their element. Daddy held on to her tightly and they both got huge mouthfuls of water but their giggles could be heard from miles away and were infectious:

All that playing in the waves was physically exhausting so once they got out for a much needed rest, Mummy couldn’t wait to get in…..and was so glad I did. It was the most fun I have had in years. The waves were massive and were sucking you in and then spitting you out. I almost lost my bikini much to the amusement of my husband who was busy filming it all on GoPro (I won’t be sharing that one though):

As we headed back along the beach a little later with her small hand in mine, Poppy told me it was the “best day ever”. When I asked her why she turned to me giving me the biggest smile and told me it was fun seeing Mummy and Daddy behaving just like them. That did it for me…much more fun and silliness in this house required! I seriously don’t think I have laughed so much in years and would love to do it all again.

Holidays are defintiely a time for relaxing and trying new things so we are hoping to have lots more over the next few years. The girls seem to share our passion for travel and adventures and we can’t wait to show them the World.
