Barbie houses, love them or hate them they have been around for ages and girls keep on wanting them so they keep on making them. I don't really have a serious issue with Barbie, I played with Sindy when I was younger and turned out okay! I think they are great for imaginative play and playing together.
This year my big girls have really entered the Barbie phase and this is what Poppy wants for Christmas (to be honest Rosie would quite like it too):
At £200 the dreamhouse is a lot of money for Father Christmas to spend on one child and even as a joint present for both big girls it is still pretty steep. It might look very girly and gorgeous but at the end of the day it is a big plastic house. The reviews are mixed with many saying bits get lost easily and its flimsey. Such a huge amount of money for something that's not going to last. I have checked out the other dreamhouse but Poppy doesn't like that one (not girly enough).
I've had a good look around and I've discovered this one – The Malibu house. It's much more affordable (Currently on offer for £59.99) and whilst smaller it is still pretty big, It has less rooms but is bigger than the one she already has. My only worry is its not the one she truly wants:
Then there is this gorgeous wooden one. Big enough for barbies and made to last, I think it's perfect but when I've shown it to others I'm told it's not the pink Barbie plastic that children love:
Oh my goodness, decisions decisions which one should we get…which one do you have?
All advice warmly welcomed.

December 11, 2014 at 9:09 pm (10 years ago)I’d get the bottom wooden one.
My experience of these plastic houses isn’t good. You can pink the bottom one up and make things for it together. It’s big. And it will last for all 3 girls. Also big enough for them to play together and I doubt the other (£69) one is.
I hate buying cheap tat that falls to bits. The children get upset too.
