We have just got back from an amazing two week family holiday in the Algarve, Portugal and can’t wait to tell you all about it.
We stayed at the very beautiful Eden Resort in Alburfeira. It really was a lovely place to stay and we cannot recommend enough. Some of you might remember how I accidentally booked this holiday a year in advance last year!! Yes I thought I was booking a last minute holiday to the algarve last Summer but as it was it turned out I made a mistake. Thankfully my family forgave me and it turned out to be a holiday worth waiting for:
Portugal have been experiencing a heatwave this summer and it’s the hottest it has been for 15 years. This meant that being in the water was very appealing and as a result we spent most of the time in the pool and sea. At approximately 40 degrees each day it was much too hot to do anything else:
I will of course be reviewing the resort properly over the next few days. We were very kindly provided with some extras to help with this like spa treatments for husband and I and a day of the ultra all inclusive experience for us all (we were on a self catering holiday). I will of course tell you all about the pools and kids club too as they were all amazing and helped to make it a very memorable experience for us.
Until then though I just want to share a few photos with you all…just in case you haven’t seen my instagram feed yet or are interested in seeing more of our amazing Algarve holiday:
It really was the most amazing holiday and none of us wanted to leave! A beautiful resort and fantastic weather made this a holiday we will not forget in a hurry.
Watch out for more posts and review coming soon.

September 22, 2016 at 11:13 am (8 years ago)We were just down the road from in a resort called Playa do Lobo; wasn’t it hot?!?!
Your photos look gorgeous and your girls really did embrace the water and just swim and dive – I know mine did! I didn’t realise Portugal was having a heatwave. It sure was hot!
Did you get to ZooMarine or any of the other splash parks? Zoomarine was possibly the best day out my kids had. I’d be interested in reading your review (I haven’t written mine yet!)
Glad your mistake holiday booking turned out to be so much fun for your family

September 28, 2016 at 12:26 pm (8 years ago)Its that the same as val do lobo? went there years ago on girls holiday and was brilliant. It was the kids club staff I think that told us it was a heatwave, the hottest in 15 years! We were going top hire a car and go exploring more but due to the heat the girls weren’t up for it and we didn’t push. We never made it to Zoomarine but it looked fab. I can’t wait to see what we missed out on when I read your review xx
