One of our favourite days out over half term holiday was Adam Henson’s Cotswolds Farm Park. From the moment we arrived we could see how well run it was with plenty of parking. It even got better when the girls were handed halloween goody bags and animal feed  on arrival and despite the weather it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. It was bitterly cold but that didn’t put these three girls off. Wrapped up warm they were delighted to get up close to all the animals, jump on the bouncy pillows and feed the goats. A really lovely day out.

Famous for presenting the BBC’s Countryfile programme, Adam Henson owns the park and between filming might even be spotted around. We didn’t see him but enjoyed seeing all of the animals, feeding goats, playing with piglets and cuddling baby chicks and rabbits. You can see from this next photo just how delighted the girls were. Rosie wants to be a vet when she’s older and Daisy just adores animals, in fact they all do. Some of our favourite holidays have been on farms (Boswarthen and Coombe Mill both in Cornwall).

This is really lovely place to explore and play. The animals are well looked after and have plenty of space. The staff were all friendly and approachable and very good with children. If you happen to own your own horse you can even bring it with you and go riding. Sadly we do not (although would love to) but nice idea. The girls really enjoyed the petting areas and the demonstrations, in fact we all did. It’s a really hands on place, even Mummy and Daddy enjoyed handing tiny baby chicks and cuddly bunnies.

As well as all of the animals there arare plenty of play areas for the children too. We used them all: bouncey pillows, tractor rides, play parks including a zip wire and even a maze…lots of fun.

As with all these attractions prepare to spend some money.  Tickets for a family of five like us will set you back £44.50 Then of course if you fancy a drink or something to eat then that really does add up as it’s not cheap. We would highly recommend taking a picnic as there are plenty of places to eat them.

One thing included free which was a lovely surprise was free painting. I think it was just because it was halloween but the girls were delighted:

All in all a really enjoyable day out. The park is now closed for the Winter but will reopen next year and is definitely worth a visit.
