Don’t you just love those days when you see something that surprises you?
A few weeks ago we took the girls to Busy Park. We hadn’t actually been for a while so it made a lovely change. It was pretty cold and icy so we wrapped up warm and decided to just see how long we lasted. It was late afternoon and the sun was pretty low so a lovely time to take photos and for me to try out my new camera:
We decided to take our favourite route around the pond first. It’s so pretty around there and we always spot deer too. As soon as we started we spotted the most delightful sight. We were only just leaving the carpark really and heading to the little bridge you cross over when we were met with this:
There were actually three deer who then decided to go for a little swim/walk through the water. A site we have never seen before. Obviously lots of other people spotted them too and it wasn’t easy to get photos without them in it:
We were all pretty impressed and as the deer wondered passed us we carried on. We didn’t see anymore deer until the end of the walk but there was plenty of other things to keep those girls entertained:
The pond was really icy in places so we spotted ducks ice skating which always makes us smile. The girls of course had to try and hold some ice too seeing how long it took to melt….it didn’t so they held it for ages:
The big tree was really slippy so we skipped that and just did a bit of running around and looking for wildlife:
As soon as that sun dropped though it was freezing. A quick play at the park and that was us done. Some more tired than others:
Then we headed home for hot chocolates and a movie. The perfect way to finish off the school holidays as it was back to school the following day.
A lovely way to enjoy some fresh air and definitely an adventure.

January 14, 2017 at 9:00 am (8 years ago)What a lovely family day out, the girls look like they’re having an amazing time exploring Bushy Park! Those shots of the deer are just wonderful, they look so playful splashing around in the water. It looks like the play in the park was just what was needed to burn off that excess energy before that cosy evening watching a movie!
Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.
