This weekend we were invited to the LEGO Friends party at Legoland Windsor. The two biggest girls are huge fans of LEGO Friends so were absolutely thrilled about this.
We arrived at about 11.30am which by the way is not a great time to arrive. The traffic and queues to get in were horrendous. Having never been to the hotel before though we were very impressed though. It had its own carpark and clock tower complete with smoke breathing LEGO dragon.
Once inside the girls jumped straight into the piles of LEGO and immediately began building as you do. In fact they would all have been happy just building in the foyer for hours. They love LEGO.
The party was at 4pm so we threw ourselves into having fun at the park before that. Unfortunately the park was chock a block which meant we spent most of that time queuing and only got to go on about 4 rides. It was so busy Husband almost got knocked over by the crowd when he stopped to look at the map.
We saw hardly any of the park this time but did spend quite a bit of time in the LEGO Friends Heartlake City. This is where Mia, Olivia, Andrea, Emma and Stephanie’s world comes to life so the big girls were really into it. We had fun exploring Olivia’s home with interactive LEGO builds and delights in every room. Poppy and I took a ride on Mias Riding Adventure. I must admit this was the scariest thing I had been on in years and I didn’t like it much but it was fun doing it with my big girl. We also took a ride on the Heartlake City Express, a much more gentle family train ride around the park.
The actual party was a lot of fun. There were dancing games and competitions with some of the amazing new lego friends toys to be won. The girls got to play with some of the new ranges and were very impressed with them.
There was lots of pampering going on too with glitter tattoos and nails being painted. The big girls were very excited to finally be allowed to have their nails painted whilst Daisy was just a bit tired to join in much.
Poppy sang in the Karaoke Booth but I wasn’t allowed to join in. I offered to sing Let it go with both big girls but apparently wasn’t cool enough!
There was lots of lovely food and of course the girls all went home with balloons and goody bags complete with little lego friends pop star toys of their own.
