Last week we headed to Ham House, Surrey to visit one of the most haunted houses in England.
Another beautiful National Trust area meant more beautiful grounds to explore and seeing as though it was close to Halloween a spooky outside trail to follow too. The girls had great fun running off to find clues. They then had to unjumble words to find spooky words. It kept them busy for ages and they throughly enjoyed themselves:
We did explore inside too. We had a look around the basement first. I was expecting it to feel really scary but it didn't at all. It actually had a lovely feeling. Maybe that had something to do with the fact the girls got to knead and roll dough, make little puppets and listen to exciting stories including Room On A Broom. They even got to ride on a broom – very exciting:
Unfortunately we didn't get to see much of upstairs as Rosie began to melt down but calm was restored once we went back outside in the fresh air again. Never mind, there's always another day.
All in all another fantastic outside adventure.

November 8, 2014 at 1:28 am (10 years ago)I am always fascinated by the kitchens in old National trust properties. This one looks wonderful and that basement sends shivers down my spine! A treasure hunt is a great way to keep the children entertained outside and what better than some spooky clues! I can’t believe one of your girls would have a melt down, they look far too angelic! Back outside in the sun always restores calm. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids
