I have always been quite girly preferring summer clothes to winter ones and adoring dresses. However, like a lot of Mums these day I spend more time, effort and money on my girls rather than me. So a chance to review a new dress definitely appealed to me.

It’s no secret that I love little girls clothes and am addicted to buying them for my three. The thing is they look great in everything whereas too often I don’t. These days i’m not even sure what suits me so often resort to good old faithful styles.

Recently though House of Fraser kindly gifted me two dresses. I chose this gorgeous dress for Poppy as she needed a new one most and then this one for me:

I was looking for something that I could wear to Husbands work party In a few weeks. It needs to be something I could wear in the daytime for a family event which then goes on into the evening too. Something comfortable but smart.

This statement midi dress is a bit longer than the dresses I would usually choose but I decided if I bent down (as you do with little ones) I wouldn’t be flashing my knickers to his boss and colleagues and if I picked Daisy up, it wouldn’t ride up either. Much more practical than either my usual knee length or floor length maxi dresses. In fact just what I need:

I love the way it sits off the shoulders, the bright colours and the fact it is so comfortable. It’s so soft and strechy with no zips or buttons to worry about. It can be easily dressed up or down as well.

I have a feeling I am going to get lots of use out of it.
