When it comes to furnishing our home, Husband likes things that are built to last whilst I want it to look modern and stylish. A few years ago we managed to find a range that suited us both without comprise from Oak Furniture land – solid oak but in a contemporary style. Happy days!

Unfortunately we did have a few troubles with that particular order but Oak Furniture land were very helpful, replacing the pieces we had trouble with and I'm happy to say that 3 years on, we are more than happy with our furniture. We have even been considering adding some new pieces to our collection.

Last week I was invited along with the lovely Jen from Love Chic Living for a day out at their head office in Swindon. I'm not sure what I expected really but I was very surprised at how big this business is. We were shown around and were able to see where all the staff are based (from the marketing team to customer services) to the warehouses and I can tell you it really is huge.

This is a little look into their warehouse – it's massive! We were definitely impressed:

For a bit of fun we were allowed to have a go at styling some of the furniture ourselves. I must admit Jen was better at this than me but I gave it a go.

First there was the Mantis light mango range. Offering a wide variety of products from a dinning set to sideboards:

Followed by the Windsor brushed oak bedroom furniture range:

I think we did pretty well. Although my photos would have been better if I had remembered my wider camera lens (whoops)!

We were also introduced to Andy the photographer and were able to see how it is done properly. I was amazed at how much work goes into building the website and photographing the products. With numerous options of chairs and tables, customers can also choose from 15 different seat pads too. That's a riduculous amount of photographs. I'd honestly never thought thought about it before:

We finished our day with a look around the Swindon showroom. As always it made me want to finish furnishing our home and get it just right. I even fell in love with a three piece suite. Not the usual thing I would pick and not something I would have even thought to look for at Oak Furniture land beforehand:

With a wide variety of ranges there's definitely something to appeal to everyone. All of the furniture really is gorgeous and very reasonably priced too. I can tell you that three years on ours still looks great even with three young girls in the house doing their best to destroy it.

All in all a great day out enjoying a sneaky peek into what goes on behind the scenes. I think we were both suitably impressed. Personally, I'm really glad our situation was resolved and I didn't give up on them.
